I agree BH. This is such an important part of law that anyone with High School level legal studies could see the judge's misinterpretation. I can't believe that's all there was to it. I'm looking for circumstances that could mitigate his decision but I can find none. Very curious. I can see Alan Bond, Eliot -and a myriad other notorious thugs released on these very same grounds. I certainly hope the appeal will be successful and the loophole in law rectified if, indeed, there is such a loophole.
