I had formed the opinion that the India effect was on its way to Moz. A number of reasons for why - the Indian govt making it harder for graphite miners, the increase in indian synthetic producers, Indians acquiring graphite assets (eg madagascar), the fact that wherever China goes India tends to follow.

Those Rio coal assets the Indians acquired seemed to correlate with my above observations. Now that JV has had one party pull out.

I know Ta Ta Steel has its own problems unrelated to these coal assets. But I am wondering how much all the 'autonomous provinces' talk had to do with their decision to exit the JV.

I too am convinced there are other forces at work re Moz govt. Fremilo's approach to some of this nonsense - it's flaccid and without purpose - which is inconsistent and incongruous with their reputation.
