Coal is the cheapest by far because it is 24/7
Include 24 hours battery cover for wind or solar and you quadruple the energy cost and never get a payback.
HELE costs about 2.5 Billion per 1000 megawatt h, Solar ( unsubsidised price) is over $1 per watt, uninstalled, without land or inverters.
Or 1 billion per Megawatt h, but they only generate max 8 hours, so we need 3 billion $ worth of panels, and batteries at $100 million per 100Megawatt h, we would need 10, (preferably 20) but say 10 at a cost of another billion.
So--- Solar costs 4 billion and coal costs 2.5 billion.
Design life of coal- 30 to 50 years solar- 10 years before major maintenance and replacements.
