    Someone who has both Aboriginal and Melanesian ancestry could not be easily separated to the same level, but they could be separated to the level other populations in the world can.

    My understanding is there is no percentage needed (nor much evidence either) to claim to be of Aboriginal decent [1]. Make up a story, get a stamped letter from some corrupt organisation and you are now Aboriginal.

    The solution is to stop worrying about who is Aboriginal or not and get on with treating all Australian the same regardless of their genetic heritage. Let's end government endorsed racism.
