I'm a firm believer in not believing what you read on the net - including hot copper forums! It is great to buck the accepted wisdom and ensure that it is correct.

The easiest way with the FDA acceptance is to use their search engine:

Search on saliva, and you will not find any multidrug tests, and the ones (single drug tests) you do find many require professional or even prescriptive use.

As I said, the status quo certainly needs to be challenged, even if it is something that has been covered before.
