11 year for gold and 8 for silver????

Apart from that silver is often mined with gold, how do you explain the mines with greater than 11 years of mine life left? Like boddington, or try olympic dam. How do you explain the deposits not yet discovered? How about the ones discovered yesterday, given that it takes ten years to bring a mine online? What about tailings retreatment?

I'm thinking you go those stats from the Department of Made-Up Statistics.
