Hopefully it stops those one punch assaults from occurring in the first place but I agree with Chrysalis that may be setting a dangerous precedent. Needs to carefully consider the surrounding circumstances of the incident or it may end up putting people to life in prison for events that don't warrant it. Example those random attacks that come out of nowhere for no reason and result in death from 1 punch without doubt life in prison. But how about altercations that aren't so random and fight instigated by both parties that result in a death from one punch ? Or a man defending say his girlfriend being attacked and then delivering a one punch that results in a death ? Are they both also life in prison ? ? ?
