Hi Tom
We chose the wrong banking package for our investment loan & are paying around 6.6%.
I am self employed and even though we had a quid or two, dealing with the banks was an absolute pain.
Also, I am old enough to remember the 17% rates of the late 1980's (some lucky ones with mainstream banks were protected and locked at 14% - they were the lucky ones!!). If we get back there even I am prepared to concede the blood will flow.
I was very good at cooking 1 minute noodles back then as they were the staple diet for a few years - I still feel sick when I walk past them in the supermarket!!!!
It was worth it though so my ex wife could walk away with most of the proceeds :) ........:(
This generation of interest rates are a walk in the park :)
all the very best
