"i havent seen 1 aussie bank claim any govt bailout money. did i miss it.

the govt gaurantee was to ensure the aussie population didnt do a run on the banks."

Two parts of bank guarantee is:

1) For people money who deposit in local banks
2) Bank barrowings from overseas sources

I am talking about 2nd point. yes so many are going overseas for cheaper funds with help of Federal guarantee, else I don't think they will get cheap credits in current situation without Australian govt guarantee.
