Ongoing SP Discussion, page-1084

Good news with the Exploration permit this week and bad news with the answer from the city council regarding the project document.

I have just read this in today's newspaper and there is a similar one from yesterday:

-"el yacimiento está en un suelo donde, con la normativa urbanística de la ciudad, no se puede excavar por motivos ambientales" = the deposit is located on a ground where, under the urban planning regulations of the city, it cannot be excavated due to environmental reasons.
-"sería una modificación estructural, sustancial, y en la que hay que quitar protección a un suelo, no solo en el espacio del yacimiento, sino también en el sitio donde se quiera instalar la planta industrial (los dos antecedentes en Cáceres en los últimos años han terminado con resoluciones judiciales que han tumbado esas modificaciones del plan de urbanismo)." => It would be a structural and substantial modification, and it would require removing protection from a ground, not only in the area of the deposit, but also in the location where the industrial plant is intended to be installed (the two previous cases in Cáceres in recent years ended up with court resolutions that rejected those modifications of the urban plan).

I thought it was just a matter of distance, but it seems several changes would be required.

Searching a little bit on Twitter, it seems that the last point the journalist is talking about are SOLAR PANELS!!! Some citizens are even against this clear technology! and they have stopped the changes in the urban plan that the mayor carried out.

It seems that citizen are not alone and and several environmental organizations are paying for very good lawyers, wining every single match to the Mayor.
Maybe that's the reason why this mining project is also stopped time and time again.
