The company InoBat plans to produce batteries in Valladolid from 2025.

Valladolid (EFE).- Slovak company InoBat signed two letters of intent on Monday regarding its desire to build a “mega battery factory” in the city of Valladolid, where it would invest about 3,000 million euros and create more than 2,000 dir
ectly qualified jobs. generate from 2025.

The final decision will be made before the end of 2022, when the details of the economic cooperation of the administrations -Ministry, Junta de Castilla y León and the City Council- have been finalized, although the company’s representative at the event in Valladolid, Tara Lindstedt, has acknowledged that the work is very advanced (“eight out of ten”) in making these facilities a benchmark for the multinational’s intention to then make the leap into the Ibero-American market.

These letters of intent were signed at the headquarters of the presidency of the Junta de Castilla y León, with the participation of the regional president, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco (PP), and the mayor of Valladolid, Óscar Puente (PSOE), while yesterday another one was signed with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, as a sign of the cooperation between administrations that both the chairman of the board of directors and the mayor have emphasized today.

On behalf of the company, Nicola Rimmington, as the architect of the talks with the Spanish institutions over the past year, and the document’s signatory, Tara Lindstedt, who emphasized that these investments involve a “systematic change”, a ” new paradigm” of energy and mobility, “carbon-free, based on digitization and sustainability”.
