Local Government officers in NZ used to have the ability to repeatedly request additional information. Now as I understand it they have one shot at it unless they have the agreement of the applicant. If they go over time the applicant receives a discount on the application costs for every day over time. Queensland would seem to be way behind the 8 ball on this one.
It is clear that CNX now accepts that a decision is ever a long time away. The irony of all this is that the "expert panel" when it eventually reports on the future of UCG in Queensland may be able to say "sorry there isn't sufficient operating experience on which to base a decision. End of UCG in Q.
