I believe the ultimate value of AEB stocks to be zero, and the only way they could be 'good value' would be if you could buy them at a low and sell them higher before they hit zero (a few times I've considered doing so, but it's a very risky game and I haven't done it, probably for the best).
No, I don't think now is a good time to buy even if you do want to try to get in and out quickly. Very likely, if you were to buy more than a tiny amount at the current price you would never get the opportunity to sell them for the same price you paid.
Looking at the life of AEB, there are a few times when you could have played that game, but you would need to time your purchase and exit perfectly, and even then your volume would need to be low, thus profit small. If you missed the opportunity to quickly sell, or you timed your purchase poorly, you would either be forced to sell for a small loss or ride it down for a big loss. I expect the future to be no different. If anything changes I'll gladly say I expect a different future, but at this point I see no reason to expect it.
The price spikes are becoming less noteworthy. I think investors have grown wise to AEB's games and new naive investors are becoming harder to find.
Sure, if someone offered me shares for 0.5c each I'd gladly buy them and sell as quickly as strategically possible, but at this point I would only pay about 1.5c off market and only for a small volume, and on market, I probably wouldn't pay anything now, because even if the price plummeted to under 1c, the market would be spooked and likely wouldn't recover.
The only two scenrios in which I'd see this as a good buy would be some erroneous report which made it look like there was a problem, giving a price crash which would inevitably be followed by a partial recovery (this is extremely unlikely, but if it did happen and I was fortunate enough to be looking at exactly the right time, I'd be in and out for a quick profit), or if there was some genuinely good news, such as a complete change of management, with every person who on the payroll gone, a new group managing to gain control, and that group consisting of people I could verify as good. Probably even more unlikely, but again, if the extraordinary happened I'd act accordingly.
In short, for years I have been predicting a gradual decline to zero with a few spikes along the year generally coinciding with announcements of promises and vague 'good news' which turn out to be nothing. For years it has gone just as I've predicted. I have every confidence in the whole thing panning out as I was saying years ago. So, that being the case, a company like this is difficult to give any value greater than zero, so, it is difficult to ever call it a bargain at any price.
Those who mocked and abused me and invested got burned. Those who agreed with me didn't. Your money, your choice.
