Inherited this watercolour many years ago; bought years and years ago for 9 shillings. Artist quite well known for painting his ships on the Thames. Never hung it due to the foxing/ fungus/ mould etc and have rung many people trying to find a fix that didn't cost the earth. No luck but did hear of a process that could do the trick. Decided I would try to repair it or let it die an excruciating death.
The result was death by a thousand swords, and then some. The cure was to soak it in a very very weak chlorine solution and some spots did disappear. BUT, by all accounts a disaster. And now I have 3 others in the same original state and little idea what to do for repair.
The results...
Trying not to be too hard on myself. Missy is doing all that on her own. Ahh!!
