    The Mantoux test has been in use for 85 years and is still useful in countries without childhood BCG vaccination program.

    QF- Gold is a superior test but some limits with the 12 time interval to test whole blood samples.

    Both will be in use in Europe/US but in countries like Japan there is no alternative to QF - Gold.
