I received a reesponse from Guy Goudy yesterday. Some of my questions, and possibly those posed by Cmon were material in nature so he could not answer in detail, but that they would be addressed to the market in due course.
For what its worth. he stressed that they were working 'day and night, on several fronts to bring value to the company through economically prudent activity''.. He also stressed that they were attracting "potential world class companies to partner up with us on our projects", and that this was possible due to the asset quality and ownership position. He goes on to say that "this company will grow on oil and gas production, cash flow and ultimately profitability"
With penny stocks in this sector its vital that management engage with shareholders and keep them 'accurately and consistently' informed as to operational activity, and more importantly, the strategic thinking behind it.
One of my concerns was this aspect of PR risk management through transparent and regular updates (beyond quarterlies/ event announcements etc) to SH was non existent and needed a formal approach. All we as shareholder want is to be kept in the loop. I also suggested that the company's story should be better told. i.e. the benefits of a duel income stream via gas development, and the tie ins with gas explorers providing proprietorial possibilities for the company etc.
He said he understood my discontent with the company'as PR strategy and would bring it to the attention of the board..
Many of us have been around for a while. Some of us have higher appetites for risk than others. I am invested in this compnay because I have made the distinction between a 'suck it and see' gung-ho start up who thinks they can find oil provided the market pays for the party, AND a small company with tightly held acreage, successful strike rates and the surprise upside of 'better than expected' results.
My opinion is that we are nowhere near insolvency, in fact that is a ridiculous assumption based on fear and frustration. What we are is a company who 'simply' fell into a cashflow trough at the very moment we had producing assets that need it.
You can draw what conclusion you will from the above. There is nothing in it we have not heard before from either this company or many others who are called to account by shareholders. My emails are always answered none the less. My assessments are based on my opinions only. I make my own decisions accordingly.
It has been suggested by some, that HC has been the catalyst for shareholder investment decisions re AKK and that some posters are somehow 'misled' into making investment decisions. Bollocks! Beyond being an occasionally stimulating place to exchange opinions, its real importance is as an exchange of information. Anyone who follows blindly in the path of someone else will never see the pothole coming, and it will always be the fault of the guy in front.
My overriding view is that at 1.3 c for a small producer with its first FO on the table and the potential for a double income stream, I see plenty of upside. All IMHO. DYOR!
