Goodwill....again, strikes me as this is all a pattern...
Inorganic growth - buy more revenue; the cash goes out the door but you can bang it on your balance sheet as Goodwill. If you were lean and performing strongly, you could see how inorganic growth would suit, buying up inefficient competitors, integrate them and maximize value. Problem is, EPD isn't (but hopefully someone is looking at EPD for that very reason).
So you get left with trying to hash out a share placement with a vendor because you can't afford to pay them....
The saying used to be 'Cash is King'. I guess the mantra at EPD is 'Revenue is King'.
