I've only ever done wet hire personally. I exclusively use a competitor to BOL (they don't service the area I work) but the companies we have available require us to supply crane operators and riggers for dry hire. For anything larger than a Franna (25 t capacity) this is just impractical. Much larger construction or mining companies may be able to do this if they keep a unit on continuous hire but I suspect most customers would be in my situation and just wet hire (with a crew) as necessary.

Anecdotally my site mobilisation costs have gone up in the last year. This is likely diesel costs being passed on.
