Sadly ,no winners here, only losers in this pilgrims opinion, save the alleged perpetrator, of said crime.
I think personal defence tasers or sprays were banned just after I arrived here in WA, some 20 odd years ago.
A young man raped and killed his young victim ( a 20 year old Indian descent young women from memory) , while taking a short cut in Innaloo or Osborne park, from the train station, would things have turned out differently ,if she had had the pepper spray? Which if memory serves was been sold illegally in subiaco.
As a young person growing up. I used to meet my mum, at the bus stop, after she worked nights( 9ish), it was a lot safer then than now.
Women, should be able to go about their business safely, at anytime of the day or ,night, regrettably, its not the case, does a surplus anywhere prevent these savage crimes? I get no satisfaction, in this additional case, whatsoever, just more sadness.
