They could have fracc'd it, to increase the flow. The acid squeeze in the calcareous shale within the Pioneer SST did bugger all to increase the flowrate frm 142mcf to 152mcf on a 1/2" choke. So, mayb a lateral section with multiple perf's could b planned later on.

The gas is there in the Pioneer SS, as is the structure, however there were no natural fractures that could help in increasing the gasflow. The formation is too damn tight.

For now, the mkt will value O#2 as non-commercial discovery, ie tight-gas.

To make it commercial, they'll need to drill a 10-12 hole program, with frac'ing & flowrates of say 1-2 MMcfd base case to develop this field.

In short, capital extensive & technically challenging exercise. Can b done in this stoneage, albiet with the right partner, with the right skillset onboard, eg, Conoco's, Hess, Statoil etc.

That's what the mkt wants to know, farmin with a major, & then get on with the drilling, which should also save CTP's cash burnout as a 100% stand-alone operator.
