    This is a picture of two of the transmission towers that caused the SA grid failure. Was it coal, gas or renewables that caused the damage?
    The intermittency of wind generation makes it more difficult to operate a grid system when it is isolated from the eastern energy market, leading to the price spikes, sure.
    But the blackout was a weather event and trying to obscure that by saying the damage was because of renewables is nonsense.
