Politicians are always looking for a media advantage if they can steer the argument for their benefit if the journalist is a compliant, but they never like the journalist who then raises their own expenses account. Its all about getting exposure for themselves and the dirt on the other side. Sometimes a divergent story can be less harmful than say the $40,000 Bill Shorten expenses story.

Why should we voters have to be forced to pay for a subscription to News Ltd newspapers when they get the information for free...well not so free because they need a paid journalist to ask pretty please to put in a Freedom of information request. For a govt who wants everyone else to become more efficient and more productive...why not lets see how much easier they can make for voters to get pay as you send expenses information. 24 mllion eyes will be better than a few journalists looking for a scoop surely?
