interesting points. I think you will find their are parts of the world where industrial agriculture can be expanded greatly, like Russia and Brazil, where land and water is sufficient. from what I have read, the key point for biofuels is the shift to celluolistic ethanol which will be a big improvement on the current method, and is achievable in the next two years. GM are placing a very strong emphasis on this techonlogy along with hybrids as the short and medium term solutions to reduced oil dependency.
