For those getting (overly?) excited here please have a look into Bacanora (lithium from clay in Mexico) and Pure Energy (lithium from Brine in Nevada). Tesla did a (very similar?) deal with them back in 2015 and the SP went up significantly. But in the end nothing came of it. As Tesla in those deals (and it looks like it in this deal as well) did not take any money in hand to help develop the mine (but in 2015 Tesla was very poor itself as well, which is no longer the case).

Anyway, this deal has great potential for PLL, certainly on the short term. But it is far from a "sure thing". If PLL can play its cards right it may really be a great deal on the long term as well. But it seems there are some serious chess games being played in the Lithium market. And some of the comments of Elon on battery day have to be seen in that light. Especially the ones about Tesla going to do its own lithium from clay....
