The arrival of some Pro-Assad militias in Afrin is unlikely to stop Erdogan because his extreme  propaganda and martyrs have (for the time being) made him more popular at home .

As a consequence we are

likely so see direct conflict between Turkey and Syria and possibly Turkey and Iran. ​

As posted Afrin is a pivot point which may greatly expand the conflict.
