KBJ, the most important features of the weekly chart are:

a) the break of that 2 year downtrend (circled)
b) the increased trading volume over the last 6-7 weeks (also circled)

That level of volume hasnt been traded since the SP peaked back in March 2011. Notice back in late 2009 the start of a series of high volume trading waves, which was a pre-cursor to the SP uptrend that occurred through 2010 into 2011...
