Hi fatpizza,
The announcement is a bit vague for the layman but if dissected it can be properly interpreted.
1. The well is being cased with a production liner (note not a production casing which is expensive as it runs from top of the well to bottom while production liner runs from last casing onwards). It also says that rig is currently installing production tubing and packer and quantitative analysis is being undertaken to finalize case hole testing. As they have already installed production tubing, these tests won't be wireline logging but rather actual flow testing after perforations in casing. This indicates to me that they are quite confidant about this zone and are very careful to protect it by installing casing.
2. It also says that balance of production testing to be conducted using wireline equipment. Wireline logging is generally done over open holes (it sometimes is done over cased holes but without production tubing). To me it reads that they are planning to test between 10100 to 10634 feet. This is quite intriguing as nothing has been revealed?
Looks like there is more to it than being revealed.
