    ASX / MEDIA RELEASE ELS051.2008
    Data-inCrypt® SMX MOVES INTO THE MARKETPLACE
    Data-inCrypt® Pty Ltd (“Data-inCrypt®”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Synergy Equities Group Limited
    (“SYNERGY”), is pleased to provide the market with an update on the rollout of its Data-inCrypt® SMX secure
    registered email (“Data-inCrypt® SMX”).
    background
    As the market knows, Data-inCrypt® formed a strategic alliance with CertifiedMail.com, Inc (“CertifiedMail”), one of
    the world’s leading secure email providers (the ASX announcement of 31 Jan 08 refers).
    The basis of the strategic alliance between Data-inCrypt® and CertifiedMail is a ten-year teaming agreement providing
    Data-inCrypt® with the exclusive licensing rights to offer a hosted CertifiedMail service - to be branded
    “Data-inCrypt® SMX secure registered email” and hosted within the SYNERGY DataCentre - and to sell CertifiedMail
    software licenses for in-house enterprise use in the Far East / Asia Pacific region. Data-inCrypt® will also provide
    installation and support services to its customers throughout the region.
    Data-inCrypt® SMX provides an easy-to-use, low-overhead secure email infrastructure for organisations that are
    required to meet government-mandated customer information privacy standards or otherwise need to protect
    confidential information in transit over the Internet. It is a requirement of organisations in Australia pursuant to the
    Privacy Act, 1988 (Commonwealth) to not do an act nor engage in practice that breaches National Privacy Principles
    (Section 16A(2)). National Privacy Principle 4.1 dealing with protection of data states “an organisation must take
    reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access,
    modification and disclosure.”
    - 2 -
    To the extent that any email communications from an organisation contains personal information relating to its clients
    then it is a requirement of the Privacy Act that it takes reasonable steps to protect these emails from unauthorised access,
    modification or disclosure. Data-inCrypt® SMX secure registered email enables an organisation to meet its obligations
    under Commonwealth Law.
    update
    Subsequent to the launch of Data-inCrypt® SMX in late January through Lavan Legal, Data-inCrypt® continues to
    target the Legal profession, all sectors of Government in Australia and corporate organisations, whilst also responding to
    the steady flow of enquiries from small-to-medium enterprise (SME) customers.
    To date, Data-inCrypt® reports that SMX has been deployed into over 40 organisations who are now determining their
    requirements with regards to the number of “gold-user” licenses needed and the method of secure message delivery to
    be implemented (ie hosted service or in-house software). These organisations include:
     an ASX top 20 listed company that operates through a portfolio of diversified business interests - looking to
    initially deploy Data-inCrypt® SMX to its Board members followed by personnel throughout other business units;
     an ASX top 100 listed company that is a leading national marketing and distribution company - looking to deploy
    to one of its national teams;
     an Australian police service - looking to deploy to over 400 officers;
     a Malaysian banking software solution provider - looking to deploy to 50 staff;
     a national stockbroking firm - looking to integrate Data-inCrypt® SMX with its automated contract note systems;
    and
     more than 30 small-to-medium enterprise (SME) organisations.
    It is anticipated that the majority of these organisations will proceed with a “hosted service” installation of
    Data-inCrypt® SMX and use the “encrypting” version of the “Send SMX” plugin for Microsoft Outlook, which enables
    end-users to easily send SMX emails with no change in behaviour or modifications to be made to an organisation’s
    internal email infrastructure.
    SYNERGY is particularly pleased by the volume and quality of potential customer enquiries received to date, as well as
    the overall response to Data-inCrypt® SMX in the marketplace.
    Yours faithfully
    Mark Popham

    about CertifiedMail (www.certifiedmail.com)
    The founders of CertifiedMail have been engaged in data security since 1989 and founded their first company,
    Safetynet, in 1991. Safetynet provided software solutions to meet the security and access control needs of the US
    Department of Defence and subsequently commercial organisations. In 1995, Safetynet began using Internet-based
    software distribution but immediately became aware of the significant security drawbacks inherent in delivering code
    over the open Internet. Safetynet successfully developed a proprietary architecture to track the secure delivery of its
    software products. For the next three years, Safetynet continued to develop the architecture further, leading to the 1998
    launch of the first CertifiedMail hosted service. CertifiedMail was incorporated as a standalone company in 1999.
    CertifiedMail is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has published case studies and undertaken marketing initiatives
    in cooperation with Microsoft. The company currently has in excess of 1.8 million user seats in operation over North
    America, South America, Europe and Africa.
