The difference with the HIH debarcle is that unless you invested 100% of you portfilio with HIH you still had something left. With Opes clients have lost their ENTIRE portfilio. Regardless of whether you were investing in BHP, RIO, NAB, WOW etc or the speculative end of town. A 100% loss across the board without warning.
