If ANZ lost money because of their counteparty risk with the shares that had as security from OP under the AMSLA, that was their fault and their counteparty risk. They changed the AMSLA to cover their hole when they realised that they had plenty of mid cap shares that would be hard to sell.
OP should have had ANZ's money sitting in the account from the valuation of the potfolio held by ANZ on the 31st March less the debt owed to ANZ.
They took us to the cleaners without a doubt, ASIC now also thinks the same.
