I truly feel for all of the Opes clients, but I also feel for all the Mums and Dads with ANZ in their super fund. ANZ should not suffer unless it has done something wrong. I say let ANZ have their day in court.
As a general rule, I can't see any reason why a secured financier should be penalised for the sins of the borrower. So how much proof have we got of ANZ actually misleading people directly? How many clients were really misled by ANZ when they started dealing with Opes?
