Hi Neet, just my 2 bobs worth. Others may well be more knowledgeable but my experience is as follows - I have transferred ltr shares from my personal account into a smsf using an Off Market transfer form , provided by broker. The broker for personal account and smsf was the same broker but the OMT form allowed tranfers to same or different brokers. The fee was $55 per transfer. If it is a change of ownership cgt is liable, as in a smsf the fund is the new owner. (but it does bring your cgt up to date if transferring at $3) but I would presume you are exempt in this case.
Share are not out of the market this way and I assume brokers tranfer as some sort of cross trade. They will magically just appear in your new account! but you would need to set one up first.
