The microscope becomes your camera lens. You should choose a mag. to suit your specimen, you look down the microscope to see that. I do not know how big the crystals are but X40 at the business end is the highest you can go before you need to go to an oil immersion lens. You should be able to calculate it but nothing beats looking down and adjusting the magnification.
