The fact that the company has not issued some commentary to shareholders on the declining price is in my view a disgrace. Surely assuming he company has an investor relations officer that something should be forthcomng from the company. And you are right, why has the ASX not issued a please explain. Aside from the shorting it behoves either or both of the parties to take or prompt some explanatory action
