re: i said this would happen to tls yesterday! From ABC website this morning, my prediction came true... wasn't hard to see that this was on Stanhope's mind at the strategic review because his whole time on stage he wouldn't shut up about the possibility of this happening:
Telstra drops credit rating
A major credit rating agency has downgraded Australia's dominant telecommunications carrier Telstra.
Moody's Investors Service has lowered Telstra's rating from A1 to A2.
Moody's says the action reflects heightened financial and business risks as Telstra embarks on a fundamental replacement of its key network.
It says a key risk factor is lower revenue and profitability in the face of an evolving competitive and regulatory environment.
Telstra shares yesterday fell two cents on the Australian Stock Exchange to $3.84.
