Everyone who reads or posts on HC has a vested interest and it would be naive to read any post without asking yourself whether the poster is a buyer or a seller. Or wants to be a buyer or seller. Or has just bought in and wants out or has just sold out and now wants back in. At higher or lower prices respectively. Or holds and wants to drive the price down to accumulate more. Or holds and wants to drive the price up as they accumulate more. Or is posting against all the important stocks in a sector where stocks are already held in a competitor and are lagging. Or to settle an old score in poster-poster feuds. Or out of spite. Or cause mum and dad hold a particular stock. Or want to. Or are waiting to.... and the list is as long as your arm.

Remember that only a fraction of HC members post... most read and l am sure that many place trades based on what they read on HC. When a SP is booming, traders often stop posting and keep it to themselves till overbought conditions prevail; and then the posts start rolling in again in praise of the stock and SP. When the SP tanks, those gushing gerties quickly disappear (ashamed?) and the posts dry up. Or ramp like hell.

l have even seen instances where 2 or 3 traders hold pretend q and a sessions on HC asking and answering each others questions in one big ramp up session.

Start watching and you will see similar patterns right through HC.

    There are no selfless acts.
    And no selfless HC posts.
    Psychology 101

Next time you sell a stock, keep an eye on the HC posts for it and with the benefit of distance and less emotional attachment, such patterns and occurances will become more evident.

Trust no one. As a trader, even your own motives and reasoning should be questioned critically and regularly.

Hope this helps. It is only a start. The psychology behind trading is complex and virtually beyond comprehension. Its a life long study.

Now sit back BottchMeister and watch the masses jump in and smash me flat.

    Regards
