The BARDA interest was driven by military requirements - and even got close to meeting their exacting needs. On the demand side, there's as much influenza as ever and vaccination doesn't meet all needs, tammiflu is under a big efficacy cloud, relenza is ok for adults - leaving only LANI as a workable influenza antiviral.
