Opioid abuse is the worst medical disaster in the Western world IMO. Most of the time it's the fault of the doctors in prescribing these drugs indiscriminately. I know many victims of Opioid reliance and their lives are ruined because of their severe side effects. They can't even go to the toilet properly suffering acute urinary retention requiring catheter and faecal impaction requiring manual evacuation on a daily basis. It's not a pretty side.

That's so true Dirk. And I didn't even mention the endemic problems associated with the over prescription of opiods, antipsychotics, antidepressants or antibiotics in my previous related post.
