Good morning all, lets see a good week for MLS!
I have question that I'm puzzled on. It may get flamed, but eh new to options!
So MLSOD is currently 0.032, and MLS is 7.2c
If I purchase say 100,000 of MLSOD, that's a cost of $3200.
When Feb 24 comes around, if these are above the strike price of 0.05 as required, the owing amount is then 100,000 x 0.05c as the initial $3200 was the premium for the option to purchase, but doesn't get included in the actual purchase correct?
This then means on expiry, to exercise the call, it would cost an additional $5000.
So total cost for options would be $8200.
In comparison, the purchase of 100,000 shares as of today at 7.2c would be $7200.
In this case, does the options make any sense, apart from delaying the second payment, as I could get the same amount of shares upfront for a lower cost or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance!
