A very fair an reasonable assessment of how options typically work...however you left out a whole myriad of other issues which typically effects their behavior.
Liquidity for one, free float for another...and one could write a entire paper on the many intricacies of project, corporate, sector and indeed sentiment based "weightings".
There is one key overiding factor here however that you have not mentioned...which in essence is having the greatest impact on the oppies trading.
That of course is profile!
The heads are predominantly in the hands of the larger more sophisticated buyers and also potentially under the daily "management" of the large placement recipients. As such, any significant moves are typically out of the range of most one point "parcel traders"!
The options however are not "protected" in such a way and impacted by more of a junior profile...the type that jumps at shadows, is generally ill informed and is silly enough to base their investment decisions on the market depth at any given time.
The size of the discount, on the options in my view, is a direct measure of the collective size of their barely recognisible testicals. (sorry ladies)
At this point...in fact it has been the same since the heads were around 80c...the smart money knows if they wait in the queue long enugh on the options, some dweeb with have a heart attack at a 1 point swing in the heads and sell into them.
If you look up "GDNO options holders profile" on Wikipedia, you will see the following description...
Predominantly jelly-backed, agapanthus licking, nancy-pants ar$e mongers that wouldn't know mouseville from Leadville, or a shadow from a hole!
Anyway...the same sort of phenomenon is also happening in the heads, due no doubt to the overflowing spewtum from the options sellers swapping to heads...but without a decent measuring stick, it is not as obvious to see what is happening!
lol...I think I have bought options every day in the last 2 weeks...I will be absoluted fukced if they tank!
lol...no guts no glory?
Cheers!
