Judging holding oppies is always depending on the stock performance. The closer to the expiry date the higher the pressure to be ready to convert if oppies are not in the money. If they are just in the money still risky, far up in the money mostly easy going.
For AKKOA it is still a gamble but if you are convinced the stock can reach 5.5c or higher before mid 2013 then they provide a great leverage.
Difficult to say how they should travel compared to heads until they are in the money but once passed the level it is simple. I made huge profits with PENOA and PENOC before I lost half due to Fukushima, but they were in the money.
Now I am close to borderline with MOYOB, nearly in the money but ex-date JAN 2013 - still risky.
There is no exact formula how to work out when to buy or sell, experience may be a good guide. If in doubt, go with heads.
