the way i look at it if you would be tight for cash when you need to convert.
At the moment i have 2 mil MLSOD (going to get more) which have almost 2 years left before needed to convert.
if our MLS heads are trading at say $1 by then then i need 100k to convert 2 mil options (2 mil *5c strike price)
so MLSOD options will be trading at around 95c
so i sell 100k of the options on market for 95k at that covers the amount i need to convert the remaining 1.9 mil options.
Of course if heads price is 50c then i need to sell 200k options
just adjust accordingly depending on the heads price at the time.
