Last Tuesday big storms ripped through northern parts of Sydney. Fortunately we didn't lose power but many friends were without power for days, sone still don't have power now 5 days later. You done realise how much modern life depends on electricity until it's gone. One friend has gas cooking and hot water but without power it won't function as the controls are computerised...

I suspect that there is a lot of interest in battery storage in these areas now, even from people who didn't lose power but know people who did. A single redflow battery with a roof top solar system would have kept many of these homes powered up.
