    My guess Cass, and that's all it is, is that, given the track leading to the proposed location of the 2nd Water Inlet Station, that this laydown area has something to do with its (the 2nd Water Inlet Station) future works.

    In fact, i'd go as far to say that your 'black widgets', are actually the 3x pre-purchased water pumps that are now standing by, as required for the new, soon to be approved, Inlet Pumping Station.

    If you refer to the Contacts page on the BCI website (https://www.bciminerals.com.au/contact.html) there are four work packages currently out for EOI's, all of which make for interesting reading.

    One of them is for - "Civil, SMP, E&I – Installation of Secondary Seawater Pump Station and Distribution Piping Network", which includes -
    "The Contractor will be responsible for mechanical works including:
    Installation of company supplied free issued equipment includes: * 3 x vacuum primed transfer pumps along with suction piping andturrets."
