i meant to also say above. in most cases, in the event of a takeover, the market price of the options will shift to take into account the likely profit (or otherwise) based on the offer price as well as being affected by the market's estimation of the likelihood of the takeover proceeding at that price, proceeding at a further premium price or else falling through completely ...
