    yes it can be done that way

    question you have to ask yourself is would you be prepared to stump up say .3c for each existing option to effectively extend the expiry date by say 1 year ( or whatever the cost / extension period might be)

    you'd need to ask yourself whether you would be throwing good money after bad.

    in the example provided the effective extension of the existing options wasn't a freebie.

    note that shareholder approval would be needed. shareholders wouldn't agree to the extension unless existing option holders paid for the extension (in my opinion)
