you could sell the options on market (assuming it was before expiry and assuming there are buyers) at the prevailing market price, in the SSN example that would be 17 or there abouts. If there are no buyers on the options (which there normally is) you would have to exercised at the strike price and then once converted to ordinary shares sell the shares on market.
if you do not have the money to exercise your options, just sell them on market long before expiry.
