This stock has always been inundated with day traders. The vast majority of them are trading in the fully paid shares because of the high turnover/volume (quicker and easier to sell). There are other speccie stocks out ther with the same pattern, ie the oppies are selling for much less than the exercise price. Some people just feel more comfortable buying the fully paid shares.
I, like others, have been taking advantage of this anomaly to buy RAU options and convert them all to F.P shares. Keep some and sell some. It takes less than 9 business days to buy the options and sell the converted shares. You can do the sums to check if it is worthwhile. As long as the Chinese and Bolivian negotiations are continuing, the SP will remain buoyant. This strategy has worked well so far over the past fortnight. But I have known the wheels to fall off the RAU wagon before.
