The objective was to stabilise the share registry. I think there are predatory activities, which if successful would not allow the RC and Co the time to cash in their options. Now, RC can wait for the various results to push the SP up without fear of predators moving before the results.

If predatory activities are indeed true, one would expect the options too will be hotly contested, especially if they go ITM.
