ive heard some talk in the financial sector that BHP may be putting a bid in for ALCOA. This is purely speculation but financial advisers at BT and westpac are thinking this may happen.
So lets analyise the facts we know: - BHP I would say is the biggest Fe player in AUS - RIO is struggling with Fe supplies esp with the MESA A project suspended due to a scorpion like bug (typical red tape) - If BHP takes over Alcoa, BHP in bauxite in a big way - ALCOA has bauxite tenements near many of bauxite australias tenements - RIO is on its last legs with the Mitch Plat - timing dec 07 lease expires - RIO & BHP have RAIL ACCESS
Im not mathematical scientist / einstein, but I ask you all what will be the share price at dec 07 if, factor that UMC can either go with BHP for Double JV + receive Mitch Plat end of Dec (unless RIO miraculously decide to build a refinery in NW) OR do double JV with RIO and get Mitch Plat that way ALL BY DEC 07
Also factor that UMC have the greatest chance out of all the Fe stocks that are running, like BCI, TTY, MMX, GBG, JMS friday and more, to get Fe onto RAILWAY
What will be the SP by Dec07???
